Some potential ways to create a voice recording

  • On a Windows computer, search for Sound Recorder. Make your recording. When you’re happy with it, click the three dots in the upper right corner to Rename, then “Show in folder’, from which you can drag-drop into an email message.

  • On a Macintosh computer, search for and run "Voice memos". Make your recording. When you’re happy with it, right-click Edit Recording to set the name, then right-click Share to send to your mail app.

  • On an iPhone, you can use the Voice Memos app. When you’re happy with your recording, you can click the recording title to rename it, then find ‘Share’ from the three dots to the right, and select your email app.

  • On an Android, search for Voice Recorder. Make your recording. When you’re happy with it, click on the recording to reach a screen where you can edit the name. Once you're ready, long-click the share button at the top (three connected dots), and choose to share as File, then Audio (not Transcript), then select your mail app.

  • If the above options don't work for you, Audacity makes a free voice recorder, and offers apps that can be installed on Windows or Mac. You can find it with a browser search.

  • Or, there are free voice recorders on the web.  One is at https://online-voice-recorder.com/.
