Westborough Public Schools has an exceptional English Language Education (ELE) program dedicated to teaching English to our diverse students, both in academic subjects and social settings. We provide a welcoming environment that equips students with strategies to quickly master English, develop essential academic and social skills, and make progress in all subject areas.

Language instruction in our ELE program covers all four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—throughout our SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) and co-taught classrooms, as well as in specialized English language development groups. We have highly qualified and licensed ELE and SEI-endorsed content area teachers, ensuring effective instruction for our English Language Learner (ELL) population.

Our program prioritizes rigorous English language instruction and support, empowering EL students to achieve proficiency in English and meet academic standards across subject areas. Our dedicated ELE teachers and content teachers collaborate closely to deliver personalized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs.

Additionally, we actively encourage EL parents and families to engage with the school community. We provide translation and interpretation services as needed to facilitate ongoing communication about students' academic and language progress. We take pride in offering English classes for parents and families throughout the school year, aiming to provide continuous support for our diverse community.

We extend a warm welcome to Westborough Public Schools. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,
