From the Assistant Superintendent

In Westborough, we educate students to become healthy, curious, and productive members of society who collaborate with others, advocate for change, and demonstrate a willingness to grow—so they can positively impact themselves, others, their community, and the world. We recognize that each student has a unique path in school and in life. Our goal is to ensure every Westborough student is fully prepared for success—in college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.

Our goal is to cultivate learning where every student thrives—academically, socially, and emotionally—and emerge fully prepared to lead meaningful, impactful lives. By integrating learning experiences across STEM, the humanities, and the arts, we help students make connections between their studies and the broader world—instilling a sense of purpose, empathy, and global awareness. We understand that education must continually evolve to meet the real-world skills demanded by society and the modern workforce. That’s why we are committed to student-centered instruction that honors the needs and strengths of all learners.

We are proud to offer a rigorous and well-rounded curriculum that nurtures both academic excellence and personal growth. Designed to meet state standards, our curriculum also fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a strong sense of civic responsibility. From foundational literacy to advanced high school coursework, every student is appropriately challenged and supported at every stage of their educational journey in Westborough Public Schools.

Westborough Public Schools offers an early childhood pre-school, Westborough Early Childhood Center (WECC). Students in grades kindergarten through third grade attend one of our three neighborhood elementary schools; Armstrong Elementary School, Fales Elementary School, or Hasting Elementary School. All Westborough students in grades 4-6 attend the Mill Pond School, transitioning to Gibbons Middle School for grades 7 and 8. Westborough High School serves students in grades 9-12, and the BORO program, is the adult transition program for the Westborough Public Schools serving students ages 18-22 with disabilities who continue to be eligible for educational services and support.

Our curriculum is developed and refined by our curriculum coordinators and department heads in close collaboration with our dedicated administrators and teachers. This is achieved through ongoing curriculum development, professional learning for our educators, a strong partnership between school, families and communities, and innovative instructional strategies.
