Welcome to the Westborough Public Schools

Covid-19 Updates

Dear Westborough Colleagues and Families,

I hope that your family is doing well, and that you’ve been able to spend some time outside to enjoy these beautiful early fall days!

It is exciting to return to so many of the events that make fall so special. The school year is feeling well underway, with staff and students clearly excited to be back together in their classrooms and engaged in learning.  The administration and School Committee have also been actively working on several items, which I’d like to share with you:

Fales School Project

Work on the new Fales School continues to proceed on target, and we’re eagerly looking forward to our anticipated opening in mid-November. The project architects, HMFH, provided an update on progress to the School Committee including current photos and projections of the final layout.  We will provide additional updates as the project moves forward toward completion.

MCAS Results

Dr. Mayer explained that with approximately 1 ⅓ years of interrupted/suboptimal learning, we were expecting to see some decline in students' MCAS results. However, even with that, Westborough continues to demonstrate a substantially better performance than the state average, and we sustained our strong position relative to benchmark districts. As a result of the impact of COVID, the state made several notable changes to this year’s reporting, which are outlined in the report.
